For the house

Photovoltaic maintenance for the home

Your implant, followed closely.

An alert in the app, a production different from usual, panels that look dirty. The maintenance of the home photovoltaic system starts with these signs and a concrete question: what does the system really need?

With uSolar you can assess controls, module cleaning, and targeted interventions on inverters and components. We start with the available information to define an activity proportionate to the situation, with a clear objective: to understand the system’s conditions and address the anomalies identified.

Observing

First understand. Then intervene.

A less productive day is not enough to prove a failure. Season, clouds, temperature, and new shadows can all alter production. Even a communication interruption can leave the app without data while the system continues to operate.

For this reason, we distinguish the missing data from the production that is actually absent. The date and time of the event, any messages from the inverter, and the trends of the previous days help to guide the verification. A recurring warning or a persistent change warrant further investigation; not a decision to replace it based on a priori assumptions.

Check

What we can assess on your system

01

Reading the data

Recorded production, reports and status of communication, when available and accessible. Monitoring provides useful information, but does not replace the inspection of the physical parts.

02

On-site inspections

Visible conditions of the modules, fixtures, accessible wiring, inverters, panels and protections. The checks and any necessary measures are defined based on the configuration, documentation and the problem encountered.

03

Targeted insights

If useful, we assess instrumental examinations and thermography. A thermal image can highlight temperature differences that need to be investigated; by itself it does not establish the cause of an anomaly.

04

Agreed interventions

A diagnosis can lead to cleaning, correction or replacement of a component. The activities, parts and any further details are defined in the proposal.

Intervene with discretion

Clean when necessary, in the appropriate way

Dust, leaves and localized deposits can interfere with the functioning of the modules. We assess the presence and type of dirt, the exposure of the roof, and accessibility before proposing the cleaning.

Equipment and methods must be compatible with the manufacturer’s instructions. Cleaning does not repair a malfunctioning inverter and does not allow for the advance promise of a percentage of energy recovered. Access to the roof and electrical work require personnel and appropriate safety measures: photographs and screenshots of the app are useful for the initial comparison, without having to climb on the roof or open up equipment.

A case to be understood

An example: the app doesn’t update

Imagine finding the same screen throughout the morning. The first step is to figure out when the last data arrived and whether the system is reporting a communication problem. Then the available information from the inverter and the system is compared.

If production is present, the focus is on data transmission. If production is also absent, a technical verification of the possible causes is required. This scenario shows why two similar situations in the app may require different interventions.

The uSolar method

A simple process in four steps

01

Tell us about the situation

Location, year of installation, power, inverter model, and observed problem. If you have them, add relevant documents and screenshots, without sharing passwords.

02

We define the checks

We assess which information is sufficient to guide our decisions and which checks require on-site access.

03

We agree with the intervention

We clarify the planned activities, any spare parts, access conditions and costs before proceeding.

04

Let's review the situation

We summarize what was found, the activities carried out and any subsequent steps. If there are any needs to update the system, we evaluate them separately from the maintenance.

Before choosing

The most frequently asked questions

maintenance of photovoltaic systems

The program depends on components, manufacturer instructions, the environment and the history of the plant, as well as any applicable checks. A home near dust or vegetation may have different requirements from another. The frequency is determined on a case-by-case basis.

No. Cleaning and washing are separate activities. Cleaning is evaluated when conditions and deposits make it useful, using methods suitable for the modules and the cover.

The absence of warnings is useful information, but the app does not detect every possible problem. Some conditions require inspection or specific measures; furthermore, the data must be updated and complete.

You can send us the brand, model, available documentation, and a description of the problem. We assess the feasibility and scope of the intervention based on the configuration, accessibility, and availability of the components.

Let's start with your system

Do you want to schedule a check-up or clarify an anomaly? Tell us what you have observed: it will help you request the appropriate activity, with a comprehensible scope before the intervention.
