Energy requalification and photovoltaic system in Pogno

The intervention was not limited to the mere installation of photovoltaics, but more broadly involved the building envelope and the overall performance of the plant. A central part of the work concerned the asbestos removal on 13,000 m² of roofing, followed by the installation of new insulated roofing with 20 cm of insulation, These were studied to reduce heat loss and improve the building's energy performance. In addition, skylights and U-glass were replaced to increase the amount of natural light entering the interior spaces, making the workspaces brighter and more comfortable.

The heart of the project is represented by’590 kW industrial photovoltaic system, installed on the roof and designed to guarantee high performance in a structured production environment. The system is composed of JA Solar 445W bifacial modules and from SolarEdge inverter with optimisers, a configuration chosen to improve system control, optimise the yield of individual panels, and increase the level of system security. Thanks to this architecture, each module can work in the best possible conditions, with more precise monitoring and more advanced management of overall performance.

From an energy perspective, the plant has been designed to generate an annual output ranging between 700,000 and 720,000 kWh, contributing significantly to reducing energy drawn from the grid. For the company, this means containing energy costs, improving self-consumption rates, and strengthening the sustainability of its plant through concrete, measurable action that aligns with a long-term industrial vision. The production of renewable energy also avoids approximately 280 tonnes of CO₂, with a significant environmental impact.

The procedure was completed in 4 months, with coordinated management of the various works and an integrated approach that combined remediation, building redevelopment, and renewable energy production. The end result is a project that brings real benefits in multiple aspects: roof safety, greater building efficiency, improved internal comfort, and more robust energy autonomy to support production activities. In this regard, the work carried out represents a concrete example of how energy requalification can become a strategic lever for improving the performance of an industrial site and supporting the company's evolution towards a more efficient and responsible model.
